Orange County Rollover Car Accident Injures One

One man was seriously injured in an Irvine car accident after the Chevrolet pickup truck he was driving rolled over and crashed on the northbound 5 Freeway the afternoon of July 2. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the Chevy pickup truck lost control on the Jeffrey Road off-ramp and rear-ended a white sport utility vehicle before rolling over. The driver of the truck was taken to the hospital. There is no word on whether anyone else was injured in this Orange County rollover car crash.

I'm relieved that this car accident victim did not suffer fatal injuries in this rollover crash. I wish him the very best for a speedy and complete recovery. Rollover crashes are notorious for causing catastrophic injuries or death because of the intensity with which they occur. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), there are approximately 40,000 fatal traffic accidents in the United States each year. Out of these fatal car crashes, 10,000 are rollovers.

California Highway Patrol's 2007 Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System (SWITRS) reports eight fatalities and 842 injuries involving car accidents in Irvine. In Orange County as a whole, 178 deaths and 14,185 injuries were reported in 2007 as a result of car accident.

Of course, there are a number of reasons why this Orange County car crash could have occurred. At the moment, however, we're left with many unanswered questions in this injury accident case. Was there a mechanical malfunction or product defect that caused the driver to lose control? Was there a dangerous condition on the roadway? Was there another vehicle driving reckless or dangerously that ran this driver off the roadway? Was there an inherent design defect in the truck that contributed to the crash by making it tip over or roll over even on slight impact or low speed?

In cases where there have been serious injuries or fatalities in a rollover crash, a reputed Orange County auto products liability attorney will have an expert perform a detailed crash analysis and have the crashed car carefully examined for product defects, mechanical malfunction and other evidence. If it is determined that a car product defect caused the car rollover crash or contributed to the serious personal injury or wrongful death in a particular case, the victim or their family may be able to receive compensation from the manufacturer of the defective car product to cover medical/funeral expenses, loss of earnings and other related damages. The best Orange County personal injury lawyers will always offer a free, comprehensive and completely confidential initial consultation to personal injury victims and their families.
