Rollover Car Accident Statistics
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), there are about 10,000 fatalities each year that involve rollover accidents. That number accounts for one-fourth of all traffic accident deaths in the United States. Rollover accidents can also be extremely devastating causing catastrophic injuries or death.
Liability Issues in Car Accidents
Based on this news report, it’s not quite clear who or what caused this fatal rollover accident. Was this accident caused by an auto product defect or malfunction in the Ford Ranger? Was this accident caused by a dangerous or defective roadway? Did another vehicle run him off the road? Was there any debris or some other dangerous condition on the roadway that caused Berkich to lose control of the vehicle and crash? The answers to these questions will hopefully help determine what caused this tragic accident.
An Injury Lawyer With Experience Can Help
If the accident was the result of a vehicle defect, the auto maker or the manufacturer of the defective product could be held liable. If another negligent driver caused the accident, he or she could be held liable. If an auto product defect is suspected, the vehicle should be preserved in it current condition, unaltered so it can be examined by an expert for product defects, malfunctions and other evidence. An experienced California personal injury lawyer will be able to better explain to victims and their families, their legal rights and options in such cases and also, help hold the negligent parties accountable.
