An Orange County car accident the morning of January 26, 2010 left two people injured, according to a news report in The Orange County Register. The injury car collision apparently occurred after a driver lost control and slammed into other vehicles waiting on an off-ramp of the 55 Freeway in Orange.
California Highway Patrol officials said the driver of a Honda Civic lost control of the vehicle and suddenly drove across the on-ramp and the divider before crashing into several vehicles including a Chevy Silverado, a Ford Ranger, a Mercedes Benz C240 as well as a Honda Odyssey van, which were waiting on the off-ramp for the light at Chapman Avenue. Both the drivers of the Civic and the Mercedes sustained injuries in this Orange car accident.
Clearly, this car accident could have been a lot worse. I’m relieved that there were no fatal injuries here. I hope the two injured victims did not sustain catastrophic or major injuries. I hope they recover quickly and completely and will keep them in my prayers.

Car Accident Causes and Liability Issues
It’s not very clear from this news report as to what caused the driver of the Honda Civic to lose control of the vehicle and collide with the other cars. Apparently, some people who witnessed the incident, told authorities that the driver may have suffered a medical condition. Officials have not confirmed whether the driver suffered a seizure at the time. However, in such cases, it is also important to look into whether the driver was at fault. Was the driver intoxicated, distracted, reckless or otherwise negligent? Was there an auto product defect or malfunction in the vehicle that caused the driver to lose control?
