A woman who was fatally injured in an Orange County car accident after her SUV was struck by another vehicle on the freeway, has been identified as 30-year-old Lorena Mancinas. The Orange County Register reports that this fatal car accident occurred the afternoon of February 24, 2010 on the 22 Freeway near Glassell Street. Mancinas’ 2003 Chevy Tahoe SUV was struck by a Toyota driven by 26-year-oldYoung Woo Lee. The crash occurred when Lee’s car struck the back of the Chevy while making a lane change. The Tahoe then rolled over several times. No arrests have been made yet and an investigation is ongoing.
My heart goes out to everyone who knew and loved Lorena Mancinas for their tragic loss. Please keep this family in your prayers.

Car Accident Causes
It appears, based on this news report, that this deadly rollover accident may have been caused by Lee’s unsafe lane change. I trust investigators are also looking into whether Lee was impaired, distracted, speeding or otherwise negligent at the time. If he is determined to have been at-fault, he could be held liable in this case.
An experienced Orange County personal injury lawyer will analyze all aspects of this accident and help hold the negligent parties accountable. A knowledgeable auto product defect lawyer will also have the Tahoe thoroughly examined for auto product defects, especially design defects. Chevy SUVs are notorious for tipping over even at normal speeds and causing serious injuries to occupants because of inadequate roof strength. If Mancinas’ fatal injuries were caused by a defective auto, then her family can also file a wrongful death claim against the auto maker.
